SOL20 Day 28

Today I reflect on how much free time I have had without going to work everyday(or having any kids home with me). So I am going to write a list of some of the ways I have loved spending this weird time alone- my fiance still works, so it has been just my dog and I at home all day until 5:30 or so.

1. Walking my dog has been a saving grace. This is the most I have gotten out of the house- is to walk my dog. We have been lucky to have some sunny days and some long walks. It is honestly kind of nice being able to take as long as a walk as we want because there isn't any rush to get home or go anywhere.

2. Cleaning my house. I will admit it, this has been the perfect time to get some spring cleaning in.... how many times can I wipe down the same counter though?? LOL

3. Reconnecting with my friends. I am a year and a half out of college, and most of my best friends are from college, but we all live in different places now. I have had time to reach out and call or text them and reconnect. I feel guilty that I haven't sooner, because being busy day to day is no excuse. This has reminded me to always keep in touch with the ones you love no matter how busy life gets!

4. Grow in my new adult hobby... Planting! My new favorite plant that I just want to grow faster is my tiny little blackberry and blueberry bush. I also started some seedlings yesterday, wish me luck!

5. Last but not least, wedding planning! My wedding is this August (if COVID-19 is a thing of the past by then) and this has been a perfect time to finish my registry, work on creating invites, choose readings, and decide what the boys will wear.

I know this crazy time is serious and sad, and my heart feels for everyone who is impacted or knows someone who is impacted by the virus, but if you are at home and healthy I encourage you to keep looking on the bright side and slow down your everyday lives, this has helped me really appropriate the littler, more simpler things in life. God bless!

  1. Like you, I was thinking today about the blessings of this time-- chats on the sidewalk with my neighbors, who I rarely see during the school year, and long walks with the dogs, time to read. This time has been hard, but it's not all bad.

  2. Your positive outlook is always a bright spot in my day. I am glad that there are so many wonderful things in your life & I really hope that your wedding will go forward as planned. I'm starting some seedlings, too. There's nothing like growing things to provide hope, is there?
